JellyBox now works with Emby too
JellyBox has been a Jellyfin music client since the first release. Starting now it also connects to Emby servers. It is the same app on every platform - macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android - and you pick which kind of server to sign in to when you add one.
What works
Everything on the front page: browsing by albums, artists, genres, playlists and songs across multiple music libraries, lossless streaming, offline downloads, media keys, CarPlay and the studio mode player. Where a feature depends on what the server holds - time-synced lyrics, artist biographies - JellyBox shows whatever your server provides, on either side.
What stays the same
- Nothing goes through a JellyBox server. The app talks to yours, directly.
- The privacy policy is unchanged: one launch ping with the OS name, and crash reports if it falls over.
- It is still free, open source and AGPL-3.0.
Found something off?
Emby support is new, and Emby servers vary a lot in version and plugins. If something that works against Jellyfin misbehaves against Emby, open an issue with your server version and what you expected to see.
